vehicle. A State Bureau of Constabulary was created by law in 1919 which was a division of the Idaho Department of Law Enforcement.
The Division of State Police was created in 1939. The unique diagonal was stripe was first used in the 1939 on the new cars.
In the 1940's the wide single stripe gave way to a pair of narrow stripes in addition to the words State Police. These markings
were used until the 1960'sSequentially numbered and hand assembled.
